A dialogue in the Godswood with Brandon

March 31, 2012 in Game Of Thrones, House Stark by Lyanna Stark

He sat in the gods wood. It was a pleasure to him when he could enjoy peace and quiet. When he went back to the castle there would be fussing, and chattering, them men would suck up to him. Then there were the ladies, who would ask him any number of question varying from how he  had liked his travels, to if they could offer him refreshment in their chambers later that evening. This was what he wanted. A silent still place, where no other person should be, because the daylight was fleeting. He drew his sword and cleaned it

A letter from Lyanna to Eddard on Punishment

March 21, 2012 in Game Of Thrones, House Stark by Lyanna Stark

What did he tell you? I’ve been the perfect lady. Brandon has been going on about how he can beat anyone. So I challenged him, he accepted. Then he went and told our father so when I met him where we were supposed to be sparing, father saw me. He scolded me, took my things, completely searched my chambers. It was so embarrassing. I am so upset. I’ve done everything I was told to do. He said I was so sweet and gentle, a devote lady and sweet daughter just the night before. I’m so horribly upset even remembering it

A letter to Benjen on Visiting the Wall

March 21, 2012 in Game Of Thrones, House Stark by Lyanna Stark

I am still in disbelief he’s taken you there. But I know in my heart I shouldn’t be. After all, he had taken Brandon and Ned at separate times as well. Despite mother and I were there you need some male in Winterfell or else winter may actually come. I don’t want you to be there with him. It is childish of me but I can’t help but think he can’t possibly be treating you any better without the two of us there as well. It’s just a quick educational journey, but I asked Brandon, and I have planned on

A letter to Brandon on Traveling and Blackmail

March 21, 2012 in Game Of Thrones, House Stark by Lyanna Stark

How could you leave without saying anything? As if that weren’t horrible enough on your character you have the audacity to write me a letter about how wonderful it is. How your going to visit lord someone or another and more of our lord father’s banner men without inviting you wonderful beloved sister! You ser, are absolutely horrible, and it will be noted now that I will take my revenge on you for treating me so poorly! I really wanted to go, I had hoped you would take me with you, surely father wouldn’t mind. Even if you didn’t want

A letter to Brandon on Misunderstanding

March 19, 2012 in Game Of Thrones, House Stark by Lyanna Stark

I do like how every time I get the better of you in an argument you always start out by saying ‘We’ve had a misunderstanding.’ I do believe these happen frequently and I know what you’ll say in response to that too, dear brother. You like doing what YOU want to do, and I like doing what I like to do. Which is a completely truthful response. Could you imagine the chaos we could cause to the seven kingdoms if we were to in fact work together to accomplish something. But then father might die of shear shock, the north

Letter to Ned, concerning my nameday

March 18, 2012 in House Stark by Lyanna Stark

Father has finally consented to my writing you. You’ve been gone much to long, you should visit. Ben and I are handling Winterfell much better without Brandon. Notice how I call him Brandon? One day I called him Bran, and It must have been in front of another Lord or someone important. How horribly offensive it is to have your younger sister call you by a pet name, he has no problems with me calling you Ned, or Benjen, Ben, but calling him Bran once, is like spitting in his soup. Which by the way I am very tempted to

Wolf’s Blood

March 18, 2012 in House Stark by Lyanna Stark

We all have a touch of wolf’s blood and wolves need to run free and roll in the dirt. My father knows he’s the one that’s given it to us. I have three brothers, why should it be expected of me to sit in the castle like a good southern lady? Ladies in the north are stronger, and Stark ladies and the strongest. I am not a shrinking violet, and winter is coming. I don’t rejoice in the sight of blood shed while I watch the men train, but I won’t shy away from it. And my father, he doesn’t

Letter to Ned concerning parties and politics

March 16, 2012 in Game Of Thrones, House Stark by Lyanna Stark

We are in fact a pack. It would be a shame for us not to be perfectly honest with each other. You are after all, completely unbiast in your advice which is always very wise, but I must admit I rarely follow it. It of course is my folly being young has it’s benefits. Not that your old by any means, if I thought little of you, I wouldn’t write at all. Rest assured Brandon’s soup will continue to go unmolested. But he is EXHAUSTINGLY cocky. The comments he makes, as if a scullery maid could be a better lady

Ladies Etiquette

March 14, 2012 in Game Of Thrones, House Stark by Lyanna Stark

Brandon likes to mistake himself for our father. I think our strange relationship started when I began playing with them. Father sat the boys down and had a stern talk with them before I was allowed to follow them around. He only told me when I was older he’d told them I was a lady, and they were not to use force or let harm come to me. That message alone in father’s unwavering lordly tone of course struck fear deep in their souls. Ned was always chivalrous anyway. He’d take me to places and back to my chambers. He
