    Corellia \\ Outside Bela Vistal

    || CorSec has issued an open alert to all forces in the area, an active shooter is assaulting the Old Imperial Base outside Bela Vistal. ||

He hugged the hunk of broken down durasteel and failing powercells that made up the bolt covered hull of the CorSec patrol speeder, it had arrived in record time to stop his little onslaught of this old, decrepit Imperial Base. He assumed that it would have been under better protection, that the New Galactic Order would have taken the time to at least assure that remnants of the past like this were well and truly locked away. Either it had been converted into some form of training facility for local CorSec agents, or, more likely, they had simply maintained the same overlook garrison here that the New Republic, and then Galactic Alliance would have once they had swept through the planet.

Whatever was still stored in this base, either new or old tech, would only be a small offering to Malitas. A handful of thermal detonators if he was lucky, and even then, he would need some form of transportation out of the base once this operation finally drew to a conclusion. This was all preparatory, of course, every would be mass-murderer had to start somewhere, afterall.

He popped up from his makeshift cover and cycled the scatterblaster before leveling it at the nearest CorSec officer. A hailstorm of bolts bucked out of the end of the shotgun and slammed into the officer’s chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. His partner, who barely got a chance to look over at his fallen comrade, hardly got a chance to notice as Malitas descended upon him, blade brought out on his off hand and sunk deep into the chest of the officer, riding his body to the ground as he vaulted over the barricade they both were held up behind. Bringing the blade high twice more and feasting it into the man’s flesh.

Standing, the cultist cycled the used powercell out of the scatterblaster, a bright green bolt slamming into the shoulder armor of his stalker gear, sending a miasma of sparks into the air before he slam-fired and absolute conflagration in response. Reducing the man, and the cover he was behind, into slag.

He paused for a moment, the whine of sirens from the direction of Bela Vistal growing closer.

The watch-guard had been dealt with, the garrison would be rallying, all he had to do now was end a couple more lives prematurely and find his loot.

Maybe this would get more interesting before it came to an end...

“And now, young Jedi,” her lips curled in a cruel sneer and the pink terror eyed the latest victims of her monstrous rampage. “You will die.”

Strawberry-flavored syrup splashed all over the ceramic plate as she brought her hand down, spoon digging into soft batter. Six pancakes suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. There was no mercy or hesitation as the small child stuffed her face, munching vigorously. The sweet flavor exploded in her mouth yet her senses craved more, more, always more. Another spoonful went into the psychokinetic prodigy’s gaping maw where sharp teeth ruthlessly crushed soft pancake flesh. An eager swallow and the gnawing hunger in her stomach had been appeased for now. It was a delicious way to start her visit to Bela Vistal. In fact, so delicious the child felt like ordering more.

Eating so much and yearning for more was probably against the law for it most definitely felt deliciously criminal. Funami wasn’t to blame though. The quaint tea and cake restaurant and its grand opening were to blame. The chef was to blame, too. News of the place had attracted the child’s sweet tooth and there was no use in trying to resist the delicious lure of tasty cakes.

An Imperial knight in training, she knew the importance of eating delicious snacks and drinking milk if she were to grow into a tall and badass Force user. Funami was likely the busiest Force sensitive in the galaxy, combining her obligations to the empire with the sacred duty of any child – going to school.

With impish lights dancing about, her violet eyes scrutinized the menu for other items she had not tasted yet.

Reaching Bela Vistal before the nearby rampage had started, the pink-haired fifth-grader had proceeded to the fabled restaurant and ordered everything her sweet tooth desired. Sporting her favorite cream white dress with short sleeves and frills at the hem, she was an adorable little thing whose innocent smile invited trust. Tiny and childlike, the girl appeared nothing out of the ordinary except the ridiculously fluffy pink hair sitting atop her head.

The loud cry of sirens passing by did not disturb her too much, not even the explosion of blaster fire going off in the short distance. A brief glance about revealed her to be the only one to maintain such composure. Worry, even fear marked the faces of other visitors, their attention focused in the same direction. Giving a weary sigh, she mentally cursed the one responsible for the trouble. Now she had to give up on filling her tummy with more tasty treats.

After licking the plate clean of syrup and placing it down on the table, the child produced a handkerchief and wiped her mouth. Looking about revealed zero witnesses of the deed, everyone had been too disturbed by the trouble. Getting up, smoothing out the creases on her dress, the girl stretched her arms and left the restaurant’s terrace. A softly hummed jolly tune accompanied her skip toward the old military base as the cool air danced with her pink pigtails.

    "You look tired."

Those three words rang out in his mind as if they were spoken seconds ago. It felt like Corin could still hear her voice when left alone during these quiet moments. He could still hear her laugh. See her smile. Unlike the others, she didn't let him get away with skipping out on meals or sleep. His apprentice always ensured her master took care of himself. In some ways, it made him question so much of their relationship. She trusted him to teach her the mysteries of the force, to share his knowledge of the saber, and mold her into a Jedi. She cared not for his past as a failed apprentice, only seeing the growth he'd managed on his own.

He didn't deserve her. He didn't deserve the others, either. Morrigan, Herod, and Kluthak. No matter how hard he tried to convince them otherwise, they truly believed he could impart some semblance of wisdom on them. But just like Ronin Fel, Corin failed them. He couldn't save him, nor could he save his apprentices. The only life he'd ever taken care of was his own. And it made him sick to his stomach to think about it.

An onslaught of static sounded from the battered holodevice at his belt.

"-peat, there is an active shooter outside Bela Vistal," the sounds cut out momentarily. "- officers down. At least two dead."

Corin's gaze followed the vibrant lights of the Corellian security force as several speeders raced through the city towards the old Imperial Base.

"C'mon, just ignore it," he muttered to himself while he turned towards his swoop bike. The old rustbucket looked as worn down as he felt, but it still brought a smile to his face.

"Reports indicate several confiscated armaments within the base, the most dangerous being T-7 Ion Disruptor rifles."

That stopped Corin in his tracks.

"You've gotta be shittin' me," he grumbled. "Fine, fine," he looked down at a charm hanging from his handlebars. "You got me. I'll go."

The Jedi climbed atop his bike, his gaze drawn in the direction of the old base. He'd passed through only a few days ago in his search for some rogue Sith element on Corellia. A single round could completely disintegrate a man. If this attack was executed by something like Black Sun or another organized criminal element, that meant serious danger. Danger the tired Jedi Master couldn't ignore.

Corin kicked the bike into gear and shot off into the sky with a frown plastered to his face. The world blurred beneath him. The city fell behind in an instant, abandoned right alongside the security speeders sent to stop whatever was happening at the base. Within minutes he could make out the structure's details. It wasn't anything special, well, anything special outside of black market weaponry. He activated the bike's autopilot feature as he passed overhead and dropped from above, landing a dozen or so paces directly ahead of Malitas.

"Alright, buddy," Corin held up a hand. "I'm gonna need you to stop."

Malitas approached the barracks where the bulk of whatever goods that this base had to offer would be located. It was a simple looking building, more or less, an old starfighter hanger, not meant for anything more than one or two craft, retrofitted to act as a more permanent settlement for whatever arms the CorSec forces would deem worthy of storing here. The large rayshield doors were replaced with simple slabs of durasteel, and a small, humanoid sized door sat in the bottom left front of the expanse. As he approached, and the door refused to give way at his presence, and along with the lack of any proper panel to input codes, he assumed that the CorSec troopers that had held up on the otherside had mag-locked the door. Meaning that the only way that he would be getting in to rummage about and properly arm himself for the coming End Times would be shutting off power to the entire facility.

Oh, how they insisted on making things difficult for him.

Turning around on his heel, scatterblaster slung across his hands, cradled more like one would a pet than a weapon, he froze for a moment.

A body simply plummeted from the sky above.

    Just the one.

A human, or at the very least a near-human. Nothing by the ways of armor or any overstated gear clinging to his body, nothing that would make him seem like much of a threat. At best, one could assume someone that so willingly would walk into danger like this without a single inclination of their abilities would be some death-wished spacer.

Malitas doubted that’s how his luck would be fairing today.

Corin’s hand went up, and so did the scatterblaster in response. In the middle of the man’s sentence, the weapon had already been pumped and leveled.

There was a moment where it seemed as if Malitas was honestly considering the request. In reality, he was just adjusting the stock of the rifle to be more comfortable on his shoulder.

<"No."> He said, voice fragmented through the stalker helm.

He pulled the trigger, and let loose a volley of bolts in the direction of the man.

Funami stood regally before the base entrance. A little girl surrounded by dead bodies, looking completely lost. The corpses and abandoned speeder bikes were good enough indicators of what had taken place. A kick of her shoe into the nearest corpse determined everyone deceased for they weren’t moving anyone. Dropping into a crouch over one of the unfortunate souls to perish moments prior, the girl inspected the wounds with a stoic, if indifferent expression. Any ordinary child her age would have vomited their lunch all over the place upon seeing the grisly scene and flee completely traumatized for the rest of their life. Not Funami.

The wounds were clearly indicative of blaster fire. Disappointment pulled down the corners of her mouth, for she had long since desired to pit her overwhelming psychokinesis against another Force sensitive being. It wasn’t out of malice or bloodlust; Funami only wished to discover where she stood among those like her. Giving a sigh and rising from her crouched position, she started into the base itself, skipping over the bodies with childish glee.

Albeit looking like an innocent and harmless girl, the pink-haired child was far from both.

No lightsaber dangled from her belt, no armor shielded her fragile body. The only weapon and shield her delicate hands would wield was the Force itself. Where others saw a tool to be used or a sacred power not to be abused, Funami saw a toy. The Force had always been a toy to her, the best toy the curious mind of a child could ask for. Fortunately for her and unfortunately for many others, she had been gifted an exceptionally strong potential for psychokinesis.

As she rushed to where the dying sounds of battle were coming from, the childishly cruel little mind started to imagine the things she was about to do.

She had always attributed the sheer power in her mind to being born a winner, winning this grand prenatal lottery, and scoring her exceptional psychokinetic potential. No training had ever existed in Funami’s life prior to joining the Imperial knights. Playing with the Force and abusing telekinesis for childish games, she had reached an alarming degree of skill before she turned four. It was all a funny, amusing game to her. Where others twice her age struggled to topple tiny pebbles, she was fully capable of seizing herself and levitating above ground.

The girl hastened down the path leading forth, finally reaching the duo. The pigtails at the sides of her head went flying again as she looked from one to another. Both men appeared very weird by her standards and she found herself completely uncertain as to what to do. Without any solid knowledge of what had transpired and who was to blame, she abruptly paused in her skip, mouth agape. Both hands on her knees, she bent over, chest rising and falling at a quickened pace.

And did nothing, out of breath after the jog all the way to the base. The power to toss living beings abound like ragdolls did not guarantee top physical fitness. A flip of a finger erected a feeble, invisible barrier around her as she breathed heavily, cheeks rosy, but that was all she intended to do for the time being.

“Hello? Can you guys please stop this before anyone gets hurt? Pleeeeeaaaase?” She pouted and pulled her best puppy-dog eyes on the two. It was the most adorable, heart-wrenching thing the galaxy had ever seen. Straightening her back, she grasped her hands together in a desperate plea to stop the violence.

    <"No.">

Well, that was expected. Unfortunate, but expected.

Bolts burst into smaller rounds the moment they exploded from the rifle's barrel. Red energy screeched as plasma flew through the air, spreading about like a web meant to entrap the Jedi Master. The tactic was a good one. Close off Corin's avenue of escape. Limit his range of motion with a saber, ensuring something made it past the fabled Jedi weapon. The shooter knew what he was doing. Corin couldn't help but smile at the implications.

The smile grew wider when he reached up with his left hand and imparted his will upon the growing web. Invisible energies pulled taut around the shots while simultaneously pushing outward with force far greater than what one man could physically accomplish. The shots now hung in the air, suspended by an unnatural power, vibrating violently in place.

Unfortunately, more were coming. Corin dove to his left and rolled across the duracrete with a grunt. He tucked his knees into his chest and extended his roll a few more feet until he felt his body slam into a storage crate. He peered up from behind his hiding place only to duck back immediately as plasma exploded against the other side. A part of him regretted trying to talk the shooter down. That regret only grew as a literal child appeared on the battlefield.

"You've gotta be shittin' me," Corin groaned. "We can still find a non-violent solution!" he called from behind the crate. "I haven't even drawn the sword yet. Just put the blaster down and get out of here."

    Old habits died hard.

Malitas had really hoped that the man was just some random spacer that had wandered into the fray, he had hoped that the single trigger fall would have been an end of the situation, that he would have dusted the man and moved on with his task. Afterall, he still had to figure out a way into the armory… he supposed he could always mag-dump rounds into the door until it slagged away, but that would take time and resourced that he simply didn’t have right now.

Then the bolts stopped in the middle of the air, hanging there as if they were frozen in time itself. The cultist needed a moment or two to actually register that was what had happened, fearing that there was a glitch with his helmet’s feed for a moment. A blink, a smack to the side of the head, and then Malitas knew what was actually happening here.

The bolts either hung or exploded past the man as he dove into cover, the scatterblaster training him the entire way, even as the rage bubbling within Malitas threatened to have him rushing Corin’s position to bludgeon him to death with the stock of the scatterblaster.

He couldn’t afford such pleasures right now.

<”Jedi!”> He hissed, the noise coming through the helmet sounding more like the tearing of a strip of hull from a crashing star destroyer than any words in Basic. The word dripping the magma of a multi-generational hate.

He wanted to drop every round he could into the cover that the Jedi was hiding behind, mop him up and move on with his operation. He’d knife fight the man if it came to it, but…

Sometimes the Galaxy was generous with it’s gifts.

Anyone with a heart, that hadn’t put themselves into a willing torture suit for over ten years, that hadn’t done horrendous things in the name of a religious that is synonomous with Pure Evil, that hadn’t viewed the universe through a lens of pure corruption and disdain may have had second thoughts about a small child walking into such a scene of carnage and devastation.

Anyone with basic morals certainly would have issues with what he did next.

Malitas leveled the scatterblaster in the direction of the small and frail looking child. The exemplar of childhood youth and innocence, giving the same face that your daughter would when asking for some extra credits to spend at the sector-fair.

He cycled the pump on the blaster and held his aim.

<”Drop the saber or I shoot, Jedi!”> He yelled past the small girl, she was nothing in his eyes, just a new tool he could use to get out of this situation.

Things had taken a turn for the worst. The Jedi was about to surrender his weapon or die trying to protect the foolish child who was going to bite the blaster bolt anyway. Or so Funami thought the two men had imagined was about to play out. The galaxy’s greatest psychokinetic - certainly believing herself so - did not share their vision of the future.

The childish simper did not disappear even as she stared down the barrel of the blaster. If anything, the silly smile grew wider, for she knew the armor dotting hostile had no clue regarding her true nature. Neither did anyone else except for her papa. Everyone saw what she appeared to be, few truly knew what she really was. Being mistaken for a helpless hostage spoke volumes of the little prodigy’s appearance and ability to act. A persona she had deliberately constructed to hide the terrible engine of destruction hidden within her small, fragile body.

She was about to shatter one of the layers of the childish façade, if only to give both men a taste. In a display of both cockiness and arrogance, she let her own protection fall to allow her mind concentrate solely on the man holding her hostage.

“Hmph, okay. Your choice.” She sighed and threw her hands up as if surrendering.

A grin half mischievous, half sinister crept onto her face. Be it to mock the Jedi or solely because she had long since outgrown the need for dramatic hand gestures, a gentle tap of her index finger against the air was enough to summon power from throughout the universe and bend it to her will. A stray thought in her pink-haired head was enough to make the wish a reality.

In an instant, a spherical blob of energy had materialized around the blaster wielding foe, trapping him within. While far from the strongest energy shield she had made, it was enough to withstand a few blaster shots and take a little beating. More than enough to give her time to gloat.

“Tee-hee!” She stuck her tongue out at the captured assailant. “You dare threaten the greatest Force user of all time?! Have fun in my, um, does this power have a name? Force shield? Impenetrable barrier? Energy bubble? Orb of protection? Telekinetic blob? Well, anyway, you are trapped and at my mercy. You better behave now!”

And she was done with the situation at hand, turning toward the Jedi with her trademark smile.

“Are you all right, mister Jedi? Are you hurt?” Funami asked with a deliberate twinge of fake concern as she grasped her hands behind her back.

Corin stepped out from behind cover with his hand extended. All five fingers were splayed out in the universal sign for stop. It wasn't much, but he hoped to draw the shooter's attention away from Funami rather than allow her to remain in his sights.

"There's no need for that," he said. "I don't know what's going on with you, but let's talk this out. She's just a kid. We can figure out what's wrong and find a solution far better than this."

At that point, the pink-haired child spoke up. She acted far too calm for someone quite literally staring down the barrel of a rifle. Unsure of what to make of her, Corin took a deep breath and extended his sense beyond the material. The world around him began to shimmer. It reflected a mix of emotions. A blue light bathed his flesh. It heralded his connection to all that was good. Shades of red and gray surged around Malitas like a small typhoon. His rage was controlled, kept in check. His actions were well thought out. Shock and awe, likely military trained.

It all came together when the Jedi Master finally recognized the cultist's armor. And then Funami trapped him in a barrier that should've been invisible.

Corin took note of her ability with a nod.

"Pretty good," he remarked. "For a kid, anyway."

Meanwhile, one of the soldiers stationed at the base wasn't having the best day. They were warned to expect interference of some kind. Most of the soldiers had guessed petty crime, maybe a visit from Black Sun if their luck took a dive, but it turned out there was worse out there than Black Sun.

Laying there, clutching his stomach, Corporal Baez glared at the red-armored cultist while he took aim at the child. His abdomen burned from where shrapnel embedded itself into his flesh and tore through the muscle. Crimson ichor pooled around his midsection, only growing with each passing second. The world around him began to spin. Everything grew hazy.

Baez knew he had moments left, if not seconds. He was so close to retirement, too. All he had to do was make it to the end of the year. Instead, he could only watch helplessly when the first explosion ripped through a nearby speeder and dropped him. Sound ripped through his mind, awakening him to pain-filled screams. He watched helplessly as his friends died brutally.

"Damned... sith-spit," Baez groaned. He undid a latch at his belt and freed a thermal detonator from its place at his hip. "If you think I-I'll let you get away with this..."

He took a deep breath and shifted onto his side. Then, with what little strength he had left, he catapulted the detonator through the air to fall several feet from the trapped Malitas. It bounced across the ground for the last few feet before bumping up against the side of the barrier... only to explode and rip through the psychic prison like it was made of paper. Small cracks grew until it shattered like glass, completely freeing the sociopath within.

Fortunately, Corporal Baez didn't live long enough to see his handiwork.

Valdis had watched the dark warrior attack the base with a group of armed men. Watching from a distance at the slaughter, it had seemed that somethings in the galaxy didn't change. Not for the better as it only grew worse from here in this time. Watching as it was nothing more than pure carnage, dawning on the fact that the armored Sith was aided by henchmen, cultists he suspected. Sith Sympathizers. Much to his surprise he had learned that the Sith themselves had disappeared, but it seems that such things were never entirely clear. Watching in a pensive gaze behind his helmet at what played out.

To his surprise a Jedi came, but what had surprised him was the emergence of a young girl. How or why a young girl emerged to wield that much power. He was unsure of, unlike the classic conflict of Jedi Vs Sith he had seen in a time all too familiar. Watching those two brought painful, nightmare images to his mind. As if his memory at times would trigger itself into a excruciating remembrance of what came from beyond this realm of existence.

Watching as the Sith attacked with such ferocity, as this one seemed more like a violent animal than anything else. Valdis decided to reveal himself, surmising that it was too boring to simply observe. As far as he could tell there was no way back to his own time period. Might as well see to it that he caused some havoc. But not on the side of the Sith, he wanted to see how one of his strength could measure himself against a animal of a Sith, some wayward Jedi, and an innocent bystander of a kid... With Force powers? All of it seemed a little too confusing to think about. With his Magick he appeared as mist, and moved as if he could be barely seen. No sound to be made as he carefully made his way to the conflict.

Appearing behind the Jedi, and the child. He appeared before them in full form. His face obscured by the black visor of his helmet. His gauntlets glowed, fire and blood everywhere. "I see somethings haven't changed. Still fighting like savages..." He said his teeth gritted in anger, in contempt of them both. Fully revealing himself, but did not appear to the Jedi nor the child as violent. At least not yet. He couldn't count on what reaction what he would receive from the two. The Sith on the other hand. Now that was one he was anticipating a classic Sith warm welcome.

The moment that the bubble appeared, Malitas was caught mid-step and stumbled against the walls of the shield. Straightening up, he glanced about his new bubblegum pink prison. He looked back at the small Force Sensitive child, watching her blabber on about something that never properly came through the shield as audible. The child sounded like she was underwater.

Oh, how he wished she was. The deepest lake he could find on Naboo with durasteel weights around her ankles. All in due time, the current situation demanded more attention anyways.

He glanced about the shield, loading in new energy shells into the scatterblaster as he sighed. There was no promise that shooting the shield wouldn’t just cause the rounds to rebound throughout it and scorch him up akin to a firing line. Ontop of that, there was no promise that he could bludgeon his way out of here without damaging his blaster rifle. He could make a run for one of the fallen CorSec troopers and steal their rifle…

And then he saw it, the thermal detonator tumbling over to the scene.

The explosion, collapsing into itself before sending out a quickly expanding shockwave of plasma, sent him billowing away from the shield and scratching against the concrete flooring of the base. His armor was rending and scraping as he went, like a rock tossed over a field of water. He rolled with the explosion the moment he got some awareness, ending up on his back before bringing himself to stand once again.

As he stood, he pumped a new energy cell into the shotgun. He had a slight limp as he brought himself into cover near the edge of the barracks. Pressing his back against the wall of the building as he peaked over. Watching another combatant enter the fray.

<”By Yavin himself, what is going on here?”> He asked himself.

Propping the scatterblaster against the wall for support, he held down the trigger and cycled the pump over and over, dumping burst after burst in the general direction of the three. Not caring if any of the rounds even made contact, just enough to keep them busy. Distracted.

He pulled himself back against the wall, out of the sightline.

More sirens in the distance, along with the sounds of approach speeders.

He really had made a bad move today, hadn’t he?

“For a kid?!” The little Imperial knight in training puffed her cheeks and feigned disbelief at his words. “Why, mister! I am just the most powerful psychokinetic in the galaxy! I can move, uh, mountains! And planets, too! I can drop Coruscant on your head!”

In her overexaggerated boasts of personal brilliance and unfathomable power, she had not noticed the dying man’s last curse meant for the attacker. Purple eyes catching something, she made a sharp turn for the object and froze in shock. For all the power in her small body, the girl lacked the experience and battle-sharpened reflexes possessed by some others to prevent the thermal detonator from going off.

“Oh poo!” The young child cried out as surprise widened her eyes. The ensuing flash of burning white forced her to cover her face and she had to steel herself with the Force to avoid falling over. A shiver ran down her spine while a wave of heat washed over. Most of the detonation had fortunately been caught by the barrier positioned in between, sparing her perfectly groomed hair a terrible fate. The barrier had not survived though. A flash of anger twinkled in her eyes and frustration darkened her expression.

A hand rose, ready to command a powerful blast of psychokinetic energy and end it all, but it was another disturbance that had saved the freed captive’s life. A shadow had appeared in her peripheral vision and, distracted, the trainee turned in its direction. A menacing figure straight out of her favorite video games stared right back at the girl. Lifting her chin, she regarded him with a stern scowl.

“Oh poo.” Funami cursed again and her lip curled in a manner that might have been a sneer or a snarl. Attention divided, she turned back to her original opponent, then to the supervillain-dressed man, then back to where the former had taken cover as blaster bolts started raining in their direction. Funami whipped one hand out from behind her back. Two dead CorSec officers laying on the ground sprung into action, puppeteered by her invisible hands, and intercepted the blasters meant for her.

A twirl of her index finger and both corpses were hurled directly at the shooter.
