~Almost a Broken Bird~

June 25, 2012 in A Clash of Kings, Game Of Thrones, House Lannister, House Stark, Season 2 by Sansa Stark

King Joffrey Baratheon

~I have called forth a special session of my court all are in attendance. My mood is foul. I have received reports that the pup rob stark has declared himself the King of the North. He has been attacking my men and ransacking villages. I will not stand for this. Someone has to be punished for this insubordination. I call forth the Lady Stark and order her to approach the Iron Throne. My men stand behind her and I can see tears forming in her eyes. I do so love seeing tears.  It lets me know that I am being the King that I need to be.~

Lady Sansa Stark

~I am absolutely terrified about coming into Joffrey’s presence. I do not think of him as I once did, but I must be forever true and faithful. There is no one to fight for me. I feel that I will be made a spectacle of and I try to hold back my tears. I am forced to kneel before the Iron Throne. Joffrey looks frigtening and foul today. I wore a pretty blue silk dress. The King likes when I look pretty. I hope that I can sooth him a little. I lower my eyes and speak softly, ”Your Majesty…” my voice wavers. I bite my lip. I am so fearful of what is next.

King Joffrey Baratheon

~I do so love the look of fear in her eyes. To think that I ever had the least bit of love in my heart for her. I did say the least bit.  It was not much. She will suffer for her brother’s rebellion against my throne and crown. She thinks she can manipulate me to be easier on her by looking pretty, stupid Stark. I rest comfortably on the throne and stare intently at her.  “Lady Stark….you whole family has been nothing but trouble for me and my reign. Your brother openly defies my authority. What say you on this matter?  Does no Stark have allegiance to the true king…Me!!!”  I raise my voice and see her shake.~

Lady Sansa Stark

~I held my breath and tried to not to shake. Fear was overcoming me and I felt a tear fall down my cheek. “Any treason that my brother has committed has nothing to do with me,” I begin pleading, “I am loyal to my King completely. Please believe me…”My words start to falter and tears really start falling now, “Please…..” The King has the long of death in his eyes and he picks up his cross bow. I start cry out, “You must understand that I had nothing to do his treason. I know nothing…”~

King Joffrey Baratheon

~I lean forward and glare at her, sneering. “Treason! Do you not represent the Starks here at King’s Landing?  Do you not speak from their voices?” I slam my hand down hard and the pain feels good. “You have never been faithful to my crown, nor to my wishes.  You are just like your little bitch of a sister and your untrustworthy father.”  She begs me to understand that she is not apart of them, but this is about sending all a message. I am not to be challenged. I pick up my crossbow and start loading it, still staring at Sansa.  “Save your tears.  I grow weary of them. You are a Stark and that is enough for me.~

Lady Sansa Stark

~He points his crossbow at me and I feel so small and worthless. Shall he kill me? I try to defend myself, “My King, I am not like my sister or my father. I have always supported you as the King…..”I whimper. I know I lie. I do hate Joffrey so much now, but there is nothing that I can do. “Please…” I beg. I know my words mean little, but perhaps, he will show me mercy. Tears are streaming now. I am so afraid…~

King Joffrey Baratheon

~I stand up from my throne and approach Sansa aiming my crossbow at her the whole time. “I need to send a clear and loud message. Killing you would do the trick. Perhaps, I will send your body back to the North.” I hear the crowd gasp and I sneer, “Putting this arrow right through your heart would surely show your brother that I will not stop until he is destroyed.” I keep it aimed at her;  her tears oddly excite me. “What can you not plead any longer?  You will not be killed.  My mother still wishes for me to marry you.” I lower the crossbow and motion for my guards to approach her.  “However, I do feel you are overdressed…” I turn my back and go and sit on my throne.~

Lady Sansa Stark

~”No, no, no..”I cry out, as his guards approach me. I know the meaning of this. I shrink down, but not before the guards take ahold of me. They tear my gown off my shoulders. Helplessly, I whimper and desperately try to cover myself. I say nothing more. My cheeks are tear-stained and I bite my lip. I am so scared. His eyes take me in cruelly.~

King Joffrey Baratheon

~I am enjoying this.  I start to clap. “You see this is also a message sent for all to see. If you are stripped, you are no queen, no princess just a Stark down to it all.” I see her crying and her face is turned to the stone ground.~

Lady Sansa Stark

~I try to stop crying and try to maintain a shread of dignity. I dressed in the silk dress that I know Joffrey likes and I know he adores when I am pretty. I can feel the fear overtake me as I approach the throne. Does he not know I am innocent of all crimes? I wish the gods would answer my prayers and strike him down. I hear a cruel voice behind me. He is yelling at me and telling me horrid things. I do not know what will happen. The King laughs and seems to be enjoying much merriment at my shame. It is so hard to maintain composure, but I do a little. I am a true Lady. The voices sneer and seem very cruel. I pray this is all over soon…”~

King Joffrey Baratheon

~I lean forward once more and raise my hand for them to stop..briefly. “Just remember I do not want the Stark girl’s face harmed. I do enjoy her face pretty.  The rest you may punish, as you will.” I motion for them to continue and start to laugh to the horror of all in the throne room

Lady Sansa Stark

~I scream, as they strike me. I try to fight back helplessly. They are cruel and mean-spirited. My body shivers and shakes as it falls to the ground. I cry even more and then, I hear a familar voice. “What kind of King strikes a helpless girl?” It is Tyrion. There seems to be a brief interlude, as I gain composure and move away. “Someone get the girl something to cover up with…” I am so thankful he showed up when he did. I watch him and see the horror on Joffrey’s face…”~

King Joffrey Baratheon

~My uncle the imp interrupts my public display and message.  I am not impressed at all. I raise my voice to him. “I am the king!!!!!!! How dare you??” He does not pay me the slightest bit of attention, damn him. I watch Sansa rise and cover up. I am furious beyond words. “I am the king!!!!!!!”~

Lady Sansa Stark

~I am so grateful that Tyrion came when he did. I wanted to thank him right then and there, but I kept my peace. The Hound wraps a cloak around me and I want to thank him too. Tyrion leads me out of the hall and I stand tall. I feel proud of myself for staying strong in this abuse. Tyrion asks me, “Do you wish to go through with this marriage?” I want to scream no and return to Winterfell, but I know what game I am playing now. “I am ever faithful and loyal to my King Joffrey..” I say firmly as I am led back to my chamber.~
